Family Sessions

There is something quietly sacred about photographing mothers. Not the posed, perfected version — but the real one. The one who reaches for her child mid-laugh, who tucks a strand of hair behind a little ear, who looks at her family like they are the whole world. Because they are.

The Vairakkann family arrived at Joyner Lake in a whirlwind of energy and made it all look effortless. They told us they wanted something real, not posed. So we followed them.

Three generations, one afternoon. Grandparents had flown in from Gujarat especially for this session — and the moment the grandmother held her youngest grandchild up to the light, we knew we were witnessing something profound.

Maureen's family brought so much colour and warmth to beach that afternoon. The children ran ahead while the elders walked slowly, hand in hand. We stayed close to both.
